RIP Harry "Captain Murphy" Goz

Harry Goz was a voice actor on one of my favorite cartoons, Sealab 2021. Sealab is part of the Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" lineup. Goz played the voice of Sealab's "Captain Murphy," one of my favorite characters. Apparently he passed away on September 5th.
TiVo records every episode of Sealab 2021 for me. I flipped it on tonight to watch the most recent episode, and saw the following note beforehand:
Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy, passed away on September 5, 2003.
In a career spanning five decades,
Harry starred on Broadway, in movies, and on television.
Everything from "Kojak" to "Fiddler on the Roof."
To us, he was a show-business legend.
And a good friend.
We miss him dearly.
Thank you, Harry.

"Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy, passed away this week. A message from Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, co-creators of "Sealab 2021," follows:
"We are devastated by the loss of our good friend, Harry Goz. Working with him was always sheer joy, and his talent was beyond compare. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, and we shall all miss him dearly." "
Another post by an editor of the show mentions that he succumbed to cancer.
No word just yet on how/if Sealab continues, but a replacement actor would not likely be well-received by the show's fans.

I don't really know Harry outside of his work on Sealab -- or, at least, I don't think I did. It's hard to connect the voice with any other roles I may have seen him in. Anyway, I like what he did with Sealab 2021 a lot, and a big part of why it's currently my favorite show is because of him.
