Pen & ink, computer colors.
Around the time that I created this piece, some of my friends and I periodically drew parallels between myself and "Charlie Brown," from Charles Shultz's Peanuts comic strip. I actually enjoyed the references of me being something akin to a grown-up Charlie Brown. Several relevant points were: mediocre jobs with little chance to develop; car problems (among other things, theft of one car and another going on fire twice -- I related my car to Charlie Brown's kite); high hopes for helping manage better games without fruition; yup...sparsity of hair; and, sure, someone filling the "little red-haired girl" slot.
And so we have this self-created caricature of myself, loosely keeping all the above in mind, depicting me as sort of a grown-up Charlie Brown. I drew it during an incredibly slow work day. Originally created as a pencil sketch, I inked it with a black ball point pen. I scanned the figure with an HP ScanJet IIc scanner, then colored the piece in Adobe Photoshop.
