Six Apart has announced that Movable Type will be going open source as of version 4.0. It will be released under the GPL license. Movable Type will also get a new home—well, return to an old home—www.movabletype.org and a whole slew of features: community involvement for your blogs, improved admin dashboard, support for OpenID, updated WYSIWYG editor, and more. As a big fan of Movable Type, this is very interesting and intriguing news to me. I can't wait to see how things continue to develop!
