The Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards for 2006 are almost here! Nominations are currently being submitted and received for this online award. It is an "internal" award system, in that anyone with a webcomic is eligible to participate.
The nomination round ends on June 5 and the top nominees are announced on June 12. Voting for the finalists ends on July 10. The winners will be announced on July 17, 2006, in an online ceremony.
I'm crossing my fingers for Local Heroes! I've voted for my favorite strips and creators as well—at the top of my list are Little Dee, Multiplex, Beaver and Steve, and Starslip Crisis.
