If you're not careful, you could just lose a nipple. From Carnagie Melon's student newspaper, the Tartan:
Medical, 2/17/03, 1:15 pm — Campus Police officers provided a medical escort for a student who reported that she caught her nipple ring on the corner of a case and ripped it from her breast. EMS responded and applied a bandage to the nipple. The student was braless at the time of the incident.
